The New Mexico Department of Health has announced for the month of August, all New Mexicans who get the COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible for a $100 incentive. According to a release, the Delta variant is at least two times more contagious than previous COVID variants. Members of the public can opt into the incentive program by visiting online at vaccinenm.org/stay-ahead or call 1-855-600-3453.
PNM has increased the amount of cash customers can receive for recycling their old fridge or freezer from $50 to $75. To take advantage of this opportunity, applicants must be a PNM residential electric customer, own the appliance, the appliance must be a regular household size (10-30 cubic feet), and the appliance must be working. Two pickup options are available that include an in-home pickup where the PNM representative will take the appliance out of the home, or an outside pickup where the customer can leave the appliance outside for pickup. To apply, customers can go to pnm.com/fridge and sign up for a pickup appointment.
Tomorrow evening in Deming, Police Community Partnerships are presenting “National Night Out 2021.” The free community event will be held at Luna County Courthouse Park from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. and will feature free food, soft drinks, games, and live music. This event is an annual community building campaign that promotes positive relationships between the police and community in addition to fostering neighborhood friendships.
