The WNMU Board of Regents, according to a news release, will be meeting next Thursday, April 28th whereby members will be discussing a range of topics including the 2022-2023 budget, the five-year capital outlay projects and infrastructure and capital projects plan, and a capital project transmittal for Mustang Athletics facilities renovations. In addition, some other items on the table will include faculty promotions and tenure, staff senate constitution and bylaws changes; and the adoption of notice procedures pursuant to the New Mexico Open Meetings Act. In other WNMU news, the public is invited to attend the Mustang Festival on campus this Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. In Deming tomorrow, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), HELP-NM, the Luna County Early Childhood Coalition and the Children Youth and Families Department of New Mexico, are presenting the 7th Annual Day of the Young Child March at Veteran’s Park, 301 South Silver Avenue. The day is in observance of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month and recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect.
