It’s Green Chile Season again here in southwest New Mexico, and we all know what that means. This is the best time of year to drive around with your windows rolled down, because every time you pass by Wal Mart you can smell fresh Hatch Green Chile being roasted by our local FFA.
The Silver City FFA was founded in 1978. Through the program, local youth become involved in numerous events and activities in the community. FFA programs are designed to foster growth in each individual child, knowledge and comprehension of agriculture, and to tailor them to the needs of business, “for both today and tomorrow”.
So what does this have to do with Hatch Green Chile? Well, when you purchase your chile from the Silver FFA, you are supporting the youth, and future, of our community. Chile Sales will be held August 16th through 18th in the lot across from Wal Mart, or you can just follow your nose.
