The Sierra County Historical Society and Geronimo Springs Museum present “Battlefield Archaeology: Some New Insights into Custer’s Last Stand” at its annual dinner and fundraiser. Visiting Research Scientist Dr. Douglas D. Scott of Colorado Mesa University will present examples of how physical evidence from the iconic Little Bighorn fight in the American West can refine battle-field interpretation, build a more complete understanding of past events, and demonstrate the evolution of military tactics. Join Dr. Scott at the Geronimo Springs Museum, 211 Main Avenue in Truth or Consequences, on Saturday, February 18th at 5:30 pm. The cost is $15 for the presentation only, or $25 for a brisket dinner for one person, $45 per couple, or $15 for children 12 and under.
