Isn’t he just the cutest thing on three legs?
Beso’s leg had to be removed when he was only 6 weeks old, but that hasn’t stopped everyone he meets from falling in love with him, according to Laurie West, owner of the Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue where Beso has been taken care of since losing his leg. Employees of Mountain Ridge Ace Hardware, who have adopted Beso as their Unofficial Mascot, also couldn’t help finding him adorable.
Laurie West took Beso with her to hang posters at Ace Hardware, and employees wanted to take turns holding “what they now refer to as their little mascot” while West worked hard to get the word out about the Puppy Dog Ranch’s upcoming Tex-Mex Barbecue fundraiser. Ace Hardware’s owner Ben Sine is a long-time supporter of the Puppy Dog Ranch, and has also adopted a dog from the Rescue. Ace will be a major sponsor for the upcoming event.
The fundraiser will be held August 18th from 12 to 6 pm at the Puppy Dog Ranch in Arenas Valley. People will be able to enjoy a 1/2 mile walking trail, live music, food, the Puppy Dog Ranch Re-Tail Booth, and the Canine Cantina, all while they visit with Beso and other dogs at the Rescue. “And if they are so inclined, people can have their friends and family members arrested by Sheriff Shaggy and his Deputy Dawgs for $1.”
All funds raised will raise money to help support the Puppy Dog Ranch: the only no kill, no cage dog rescue within 125 miles of Silver City. The Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary is located at 27 Twin Sisters Creek Road in Arenas Valley. For more information, to volunteer, or to donate to the rescue, call Laurie West at 313-7232.
