Due to ongoing windy and dry conditions combined with rising temperatures, the Gila National Forest has implemented Stage 2 fire restrictions. Under these restrictions, the use of open flames is strictly prohibited, including building, maintaining, attending, or using campfires, stove fires, charcoal, and briquettes. Additionally, the use of internal combustion engines, battery-powered equipment capable of producing sparks, welding tools, and acetylene torches with open flames is not allowed. The purpose of the restrictions is to protect public health and safety, as well as National Forest System lands, resources, and facilities by reducing the risk of human-caused wildfires.
