The historic Pinos Altos Museum will be having a free community event this Memorial Day weekend. They will have Doc Holiday’s Wild Wild West comedy show, a tour of the museum and free giveaways. Congratulations to the Deming High School students who recently graduated from the Early College High School program. There were eleven high school seniors who graduated the program and received an Associate’s Degree from Western New Mexico University. 

The U.S. The Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will end data collection for the 2022 Census of Agriculture on May 31st. Recipients that produced and sold $1,000 or more of agricultural products in 2022, or normally would have produced and sold that much, meet USDA’s definition of a farm, therefore need to complete the questionnaire. Colores United will be having a community clothing giveaway on Monday, May 29th. The event will take place at 820 East Spruce Street in Deming from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be free and open to the public. For more information call 575-592-8426.

Bill Evans has officially opened its lake to the public. The old boat ramp has been modified to provide better access for non-motorized watercraft, and several fishing jetties have also been added. The new boat ramp remains closed until the lake’s water level rises, at which time the new boat dock will be installed. A BIG Congratulations to Addy Offutt of Animas High School who recently signed on to play basketball with Lamar College. A special ceremony was held for Ms. Offutt where she made it official and signed on to play for the Runnin’ Lady Loops in Colorado. Ms. Addy plans on playing for the team while studying Equine Science.
