The WNMU School of Business is providing “Volunteer Income Tax Assistance” services for the community on Mondays and Wednesdays through April 15th. The services are available to families and individuals with an annual household income of $57,000 or less, and for those who are 65 years or older. Returns will not be prepared in-person. Instead, taxpayers may drop off their tax forms and students will complete the work throughout the week and call when the returns are finished. The Gila National Forest is announcing a Continental Divide Trail Maintenance and Rehab project using volunteers on Saturday, March 13th from 9:00 A.M. and wrapping up by 12:30 P.M. The project includes brushing and tread work of the CDT Trail. Volunteers are requested to bring safety glasses, long-sleeved shirt, pants, sturdy Footwear, work gloves, sunscreen, water, and lunch. In addition, volunteers need to meet at the Pinos Altos Fire Station at 4759 NM Highway 15 at 9:00 A.M. No sign up is necessary. The Forest Service will supply the hand tools and volunteers need to provide their own transportation.
