Residents of the Village of Santa Clara may now text the Village to find information and report issues. In addition, there is an option available to receive village text message notifications using the “Text My Gov” application. After signing up online at https://www.villageofsantaclara.org/, residents can report issues regarding trash, water leaks, weeds, stray animals, and other issues. If a resident has a question, they can text one or two key words to obtain the information they need. The Village of Sant Clara website also has a link for utility payments, meeting agendas and minutes packets, and a community calendar of local events.

The Silver City Rotary Club working collaboration with The Commons in Silver City, has been delivering packages of hygiene supplies to elementary and middle school nurses in the Silver Consolidated School District. The project is funded through a grant from Rotary District 5520, a region that covers New Mexico and West Texas. In addition, local dentists and Rotary members contributed greatly to the packages that contain items such as soap, shampoo, combs, hairbrushes, lotions, underwear, socks, and feminine hygiene products. The packages are distributed to students on an as-needed basis at the discretion of the school nurse.

There is a special Silver City Town Hall Meeting tomorrow evening March 29th at 6:00 P.M., sponsored by District 4 Town Councilor, Guadalupe Cano. The topic of discussion will be the proposed Recreational Center. The location of the meeting is the Grant County Veteran’s Memorial Conference Center. Residents are invited to share their opinions and ideas by attending the meeting or in an email to Councilor Cano at councilordistrict4@silvercitynm.gov.
