We, here at Silver City Radio, will keep you informed about area information concerning the forest fires in the area.  As we receive information about the fires, we will pass along that information to you. Here is a fire update regarding the two fires in our area—The Buzzard fire 10 miles northeast of Reserve and the Meadow Fire north of Signal Peak.

Regarding the Meadow Fire that started on June 3rd, the fire is burning northwest of Signal Peak looking. Yesterday the fire was estimated at 150 acres with 0% containment. The cause is under investigation. The fire is burning grass, oak brush, heavy dead and down timber, and ponderosa pine.  Attack crews are responding with full suppression strategies.

Regarding the Meadow Fire residents should know that the Gila National Forest has issued a Forest Order closing the area. This order has been issued for firefighter and public safety. All roads and trail interior the boundary described in the Forest Order 06-18-007, which the map is posted on our website. www.silvercityradio.com. The area is closed with the exemption of: Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission; Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty; Residents in the area accessing private property via a restricted Forest Service road to the extent necessary to gain access to their private property.
