NMDOH Free Flu Shot Clinic

The New Mexico Department of Health is hosting flu shot clinics in Silver City at their public health office located at 2610 North Silver Street. The clinic is scheduled for November 3rd. Silver City Watershed Keepers Clean Up Event

Silver City Watershed Keepers have organized a trash cleanup in the upper watershed on November 7th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteers will meet at the Jose Barrios Elementary School parking lot and caravan to the site on Bear Mountain Road. Trash bags, gloves, and trash pickers will be provided. Face masks are required. The High Desert Humane Society is holding their monthly reduce rate rabies drive-thru only vaccination clinic on Saturday, November 14th from 9:00 A.M. to 12 noon at the humane society building located at 3050 Cougar Way in Silver City. Gila National Forest Christmas Tree Permits

Gila National Forest Christmas Tree Permits will be available to the public starting November 16th through recreation.gov. In addition, 4th grade children are eligible for a free Christmas Tree permit through the “Every Kid Outdoors” initiative as supplies allow. Go to everykidoutdoors.gov.

The 30th annual Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Silver City has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and safety concerns associated with the event. 

Grant County Prospectors Legislative Communication

The Grant County Prospectors are presenting a Legislative Communication Forum this Thursday, December 3rd as a virtual event. Local Legislators and presenters will use a Zoom link for their presentations. The public is invited to view the forum by going online to Grant County Prospectors dot org.
