There is a “Start the Year Write” workshop on Monday January 6th from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the Silver City Public Library located at 515 College Avenue. Brainstorm ideas and set some writing goals, with facilitator Kendra Griffin, a creative writing professor. The Workshop sponsored by the Southwest Festival of the Written Word.
The Gilawriters Expressive Writing Group meets from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Tuesdays at the Murray Ryan Visitors Center located at 201 North Hudson Street in Silver City. The group welcomes writers of all levels to participate and free to the public. All writing is done during the session.
There will be a Town Hall Meeting hosted by State Rep Rudy Martinez on the topic of mining and jobs on Thursday, January 9th 7:00 P.M. at the Bayard Community Center. The evening will feature information in addition to feedback from the community. Refreshments will be served immediately after the meeting.
