In New Mexico news:

New Mexico lawmakers are revisiting how to fund road construction and maintenance amid concerns about deteriorating road conditions across the state. According to Source New Mexico, a recent poll found that 83% of voters believe road improvements should be a top priority, while 42% rated the state’s road conditions as poor or very poor. One proposal would direct a larger share of the state’s existing vehicle sales tax revenue toward road projects instead of the state general fund. The debate could affect future road maintenance and infrastructure investments across New Mexico, including rural communities.
