The Silver City Museum will have Creative Pumpkin Carving on October 23rd from 11 am to noon at the museum in downtown Silver City. Craft classes are geared toward adults and children age 4 and older. The cost is $5 for the craft and participation is limited, so pre-registration is encouraged. Call 538-5921
The Silver City Museum will hold their third annual Halloween Ghost Walk on October 31st from 1 to 3 pm. There will be ghosts of the historic past, prizes, face painting, crafts and refreshments. The ghost walk is free and open to the public. Call 538-5921
The Morenci Mine Strike will be the focus of an informative talk during the Brown Bag Lunch at the Silver City Museum Annex on March 3rd from noon to 1 pm. David Rose will present a talk on the Morenci Copper Strike of 1983 and 1984. Call 538-5921
The Silver City Museum will have a Leprechauns and Bunny Jars craft on March 12th from 10:30 to noon. Make a cute leprechaun or bunny jar to put Easter candy in or for use as a piggy bank. This activity is free and open to kids of all ages. Call 538-5921
There will be a Brown Bag Program entitled “Filling in the Big Ditch” on April 7th from noon to 1 pm at the Silver City Museum Annex. Dave Menzie will present the story of the Big Ditch in the context of geological processes and through photographic documentation of the formation of the ditch. Call 538-5921
Plant a Mini-Garden and make a paper vase at the Silver City Museum on April 23rd from 10:30 to noon. Kids of all ages can come plant a min-garden to take home and make a picture of a paper vase to display to celebrate spring. Call 538-5921
Kids of all ages are invited to the Silver City Museum on May 21st from 10:30 to noon for a children’s activity. Children can make a macaroni name plate for the door to their rooms, and make magnets out of clothespins on which to hang important messages. Call 538-5921
On Saturday, June 11th from 10:30 to noon, kids of all ages can go to the Silver City Museum Annex and make popsicle stick picture frames. The frames can be used for family pictures, school drawings, and more! Call 538-5921
There will be a Brown Bag Presentation by Susi Wolf on June 25th from noon to 1 pm at the Silver City Museum Annex. Wolf will discuss animal tales as they relate to various cultures, the importance of animal tales in storytelling with various animal characters. Call 538-5921
