The Mimbres Region Arts Council, in conjunction with premier sponsor Cissy McAndrew/United Country Mimbres Realty, is pleased to announce the fourth and final great performance of the 2013-14 Folk Series. Terry Hendrix and Lloyd Maines will perform on Friday, March 21, 2014, 7:30 p.m. at the Buckhorn Opera House in the scenic mountain town of Pinos Altos – 10 short minutes outside of Silver City.

Terri Hendrix is an award-winning Texas songwriter who spins sorrow into joy and wrings wisdom from the blues with the poetic grace and uplifting melodic flair that has long been her trademark. A classically trained vocalist and deft multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin and harmonica), she dodges musical pigeonholes by weaving folk, pop, country, blues and swinging jazz into an eclectic style all her own.

Lloyd Wayne Maines is a Grammy Award-winning country music record producer, musician and songwriter. Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, Maines is a multi-instrumentalist who has also performed and recorded playing dobro, electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, lap steel guitar, banjo and bell tree. Maines started out as a member of the Joe Ely Band in the early 1970s, and soon became world-renowned as a pedal steel virtuoso. His talents as producer and instrumentalist have been sought after ever since. He has been touring with Terri Hendrix since 1996. Together they form a powerhouse duo packed with talent, not to be missed.

Hendrix and Maines will also present a Youth Outreach Performance for area students at the Fine Arts Center Theatre at 1pm on Friday, March 21.
