The Sixth Judicial Court has announced the upcoming relocation of the Grant County Magistrate Court – Division 1 in Silver City from 1620 East Pine Street to 214 North Black Street. Effective this Thursday, October 6th and through approximately October 18th, the Grant County Magistrate Court Division 1 will be TEMPORARILY located in the Grant County Courthouse with the Sixth Judicial Court at 201 North Cooper Street in Silver City. The public will continue to contact the court through phone and fax at their regular numbers. In addition, the public may reach customer service for more detailed information at 855-268-7804. Yesterday, a ceremony dedicated to the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month was held in the Silver City Woman’s Club. Rachel Sierra, services executive director of El Refugio, opened the event followed by others involved with family counseling and including a reading of a proclamation by County Commission Chair, Chris Ponce. In addition, a purple candle was lit to honor all those whose died or survived from domestic violence.

 

The New Mexico Department of Health Acting Cabinet Secretary of the NMDOH, David R. Scrase, M.D, Deputy Secretary and Laura Parajon, M.D. will be holding a virtual COVID-19 and Monkeypox update press conference this Thursday, October 6th at 1:00 P.M. The event will be streamed live on the New Mexico Department of Health Facebook page. The news conference will also be streamed with a Spanish language interpreter on Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s YouTube page.
