The office of the  New Mexico Secretary of State has posted 2022 General Election results on their website at https://www.sos.state.nm.us/. Regarding statewide voter turnout, out of 1,364,559 registered voters, 703,700 ballots were counted, meaning 51.57 percent voted in yesterday’s election. One hundred percent of all the  2,163 New Mexico precincts have reported their results. At the time of this report, any write-in candidate votes have not been tabulated. The Village of Santa Clara has issued a proclamation declaring they are proud to host the 2022 Tamal Fiesta Y Mas in celebration of local Hispanic culture through food, music, and various performances. The Town of Silver City hosted the event for 16 years and graciously turned it over to the Village of Santa Clara in 2018. This month, the event will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and will feature live music and entertainment , lots of food, a Kids Piñata Bust, a Chancla Throw contest, Car show, and much more. 

The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce is still accepting nominations for the titles of Citizen if the Year, Employee of the Year, Business of the Year, and the Linda K. Jones Humanitarian of the Year. This year’s chamber banquet will be held on December 1st , at 6:00 pm at the Grant County Veterans Memorial Business and Conference Center.
