The Grant County Copper Cowbelles are now accepting scholarship applications at any time during the year to allow increased flexibility in accommodating the needs the applying students. The scholarships can be applied to college degrees in agricultural fields in addition to supporting students wishing to attend trade schools or take on apprenticeships in welding, plumbers, electricians, and lineman. The Grant County Copper Cowbelles are a group of women working to educate the public about the nutritional benefits of beef and the importance of preserving western heritage.

In Gila National Forest news, all offices will be closed tomorrow, November 17th for an employee development day. Offices will re-open on Friday November 18th. The Silver City Gospel Mission is planning a Thanksgiving Day feast open to anyone that wishes to participate. Randy Salars, Manager of the Silver City Gospel Mission states that “no one in the town needs to be hungry or alone this holiday season, so make sure to let anyone in need know about this community meal to be held at 12 Noon on Thanksgiving Day.” In addition, the Gospel Mission is still welcoming donations of food, cash, or volunteers to come and help.
