At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 59,034 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases statewide. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County increased to a total of 254 cases with 85 recovered; Luna County increased to a total of 1,455 with 319 recovered; Hidalgo County increased to a total of 136 with 87 recovered, and Catron has increased to 12 total cases with 6 recovered. Sadly, yesterday the NMDOH reported 14 additional COVID-19 related deaths and 1,500 new cases statewide, the largest state increase to date.

In further COVID-19 news, Governor Lujan Grisham and state officials will host a fully remote news conference tomorrow afternoon to provide a COVID-19 update for New Mexico. The news conference will be streamed live at 1:00 P.M. on the governor’s Facebook page.

In Deming, due to a significant spread of COVID-19 throughout Luna County, the City of Deming offices will be minimally staffed over the next 2 weeks. According to a release, the Drive-Thru will be closed and all payments will only be accepted via online portal or by phone at 575-546-8848, extension 2. In addition, Luna County offices are closed to the public and the Deming Motor Vehicles Department has closed and those who have appointments will be contacted to reschedule at a later date.
