Grant County is advising residents of the potential for burn scar flash flooding in the coming days. Due to the rapid onset of flash floods and debris flows due to the Trout Fire, the county is urging the public to prepare in advance by remaining vigilant, staying informed through official channels, and following all evacuation orders or guidance from local authorities. Residents who are instructed to shelter in place are advised to move to the highest accessible point within their homes. Luna County will hold a public hearing on June 24 at 10:00 a.m. at 700 South Silver Avenue to report on past Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program activities and to gather public input on community development needs and potential future CDBG projects. The hearing will include a presentation on eligible activities and funding categories. All interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to attend to submit project proposals, provide relevant data and testimony, and share other pertinent information to support community development planning.

The City of Lordsburg has announced that construction will soon commence in the Pyramid Heights area. The project will include the repaving of the roadway, as well as the installation of new inner and outer curbs and gutters. Residents are encouraged to observe all posted signage, remain alert for construction crews, and exercise caution while driving through the area.
