The Santa Clara Board of Trustees approved an application to the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission seeking $14 million for a water line connecting the village to Hanover. The project follows an agreement made last year to merge the Hanover Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association with Santa Clara’s water system and is part of broader regional efforts to improve long-term water reliability. The reporting effort follows weeks of heavy rainfall and flooding that affected roads, properties and other areas of the county, including damage associated with the Bassett Lake dam breach. Flood reports can be submitted through the Flood Area Reporting link available at Luna County dot org.
