According to the 4pm Governor’s press conference, COVID-19 cases have increased in New Mexico to 315 individuals, with 2 additional hospitalizations. There is a total of five deaths now in New Mexico from COVID-19. For our area, sadly we now have a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in Grant County. The individual has been asked to self-quarantine at home for 14 days.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, small business owners in all U.S. states, Washington D.C., and territories are eligible to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan advance of up to $10,000. The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is providing small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can give vital economic support to small businesses in overcoming the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. The loan advance will provide economic relief to businesses that are currently experiencing a temporary loss of revenue. Funds will be made available within three days of a successful application, and this loan advance will not have to be repaid. Seek more information online at https://covid19relief.sba.gov/#/.

The Guadalupe Montessori School in Silver City is offering free Grab and Go lunches for students under age 18 for the duration of the COVID-19 health emergency. The lunches will be available Monday through Thursday from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with Friday’s lunch being given out on Thursday. The school is located at 1731 North Alabama Street in Silver City and can be reached at 575-388-3343.
