Starting yesterday, March 1st, the New Mexico Judiciary new payment processing system will expand to all courts statewide beginning in April. According to a news release, “credit card terminals at courthouse counters will accommodate court customers using multiple payment types, including Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards, Discover, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.  The public can pay for fines, fees, and for miscellaneous costs such as postage, copies and CDs of court proceedings. For added convenience, people can also make online payments with a credit or debit card through a secure option on the New Mexico Courts website at  The Sixth Judicial District, finesandfees.nmcourts.gov comprised of courts in Hidalgo, Grant, and Luna Counties, was part of the initial pilot program and  will add online payment options during the April rollout.

The Deming/Luna County Senior Citizens Center is offering a “Vaccination Outreach Program” to assist local seniors in setting up vaccination appointments and transportation to vaccination locations. In addition, in-home vaccinations are available to the fully homebound. Interested parties can contact the senior center located at 800 South Granite in Deming at 575-546-8823.

Valley Community Church in Arenas Valley has created a Pet Food Pantry for those in need to be held on the first and third Saturday each month from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M. Pet owners can obtain food for small pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc. Pick up time will run for one hour or till they run out of food.  Visit online at the Valley Community Church Arenas Valley page on Facebook.
