PNM has recognized businesses in local communities who have participated in a PNM Energy Efficiency program. The awards are based on participation across eleven communities throughout the state and cover six major program categories; Multifamily, New Construction, Retrofit Rebate, AC Tune-up, Retro-Commissioning, and Quick Saver. These PNM Business Energy Efficiency Star winners collectively saved nearly 24 million kilowatt-hours of energy, which is enough to power 3,487 homes for a year or removing 13,127 metric tons of carbon dioxide from the air or saving 7.7 million gallons of water. The local award- winning businesses for 2021 are as follows: In Deming: Baca’s Funeral Chapels; County of Luna and Luna County Florida Mountain Fire Department; Luna County Daycare; and Deming Public Schools. In Grant County: Cobre Consolidated High School; the County of Grant; Food Mart; and WNMU.

The New Mexico Department of Health will not host a COVID-19 update press conference this week due to significantly lower case counts as the state enters into a new phase of the pandemic. According to a news release, future press conferences will be announced as needed in addition to posting data directly to the state COVID-19 website, cv.nmhealth.org/epidemiology-reports.

Sick of being stuck at home? The Tour of the Gila bicycle race will be happening April 27th to May 1st in Silver City and surrounding areas! Volunteers are needed to support the racers through driving positions, and course marshaling. No experience is necessary!
