The Kiwanis Club of Silver City held their annual Fort Bayard Christmas gift project for the Alzheimer patients at Fort Bayard Medical Center. Members of the club along with Silver High Key Club students and parents shopped for 39 patients. The gifts were individually determined according to the wants and needs of each patient. The club has several fundraisers throughout the year that allow the Kiwanis members to purchase the many gifts that are then thoughtfully wrapped during the club’s annual Christmas party. The gifts were delivered to Fort Bayard and given to the patients during their holiday celebration. Thank you to the members of the Kiwanis Club of Silver City for spreading joy this holiday this holiday season with Alzheimer patients at Fort Bayard Medical Center.
Calvary Chapel is inviting the public to their annual Christmas Eve Service tomorrow evening at 6:00 P.M. at 3001 Highway 90 South. There will be special music and a Christmas message from Pastor Joseph. Following the service there will be a free pasole dinner and all are invited. On Sunday, Christmas Day there will be one short service at 10:30 A.M. at the church. There will be no 8:30 A.M. service.
In observance of the Christmas Holiday, the Southwest Solid Waste Authority Silver City Landfill and the Transfer Stations in Cliff-Gila, Tri-City, Mimbres and Hachita will be closed from Saturday December 24th through Monday December 26th. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, December 27th.
Saint Vincent de Paul Parish Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday, December 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. They at 420 West Market Street in Silver City.
