At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 21,130 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases. In addition, COVID-19 cases locally impacting the area are as follows: Grant County increased to 68 total cases with 21 recovered; Luna County increasing to 235 total cases and 53 recovered; Hidalgo County remaining at 88 total cases with 25 recovered; and Catron County remaining at 4 total cases and zero totally recovered. Statewide, there are 131 individuals currently hospitalized and 8,463 individuals designated as totally recovered.

The Gila National Forest, Silver City Ranger District has released information to the public regarding a new closure order for the tadpole Fire area west of NM Highway 15. Entry is prohibited to all non-fire personnel due to hazards from the fire in addition to providing the opportunity for continued firefighter response to hotspots that remain in the area. The closure includes the area from Bear Creek Road 506 north and west of NM Highway 15 to and including the Sheep Corral and Trout Creek roads north of Tadpole Ridge. Additionally, Cherry Creek and McMillan Campgrounds are now open to the public.

The New Mexico Department of Agriculture has received reports of New Mexico residents receiving unsolicited foreign seeds through the mail. In addition, these seeds are not clearly labeled as seeds and may appear to be shipped as jewelry items. The NMDA is requesting that individuals who receive these seeds to not plant them. If the seed has been planted, collect the seed prior to germination or destroy any emerging plants. According to a release, this type of international shipment of seeds is unlawful under state and federal regulations. The NMDA asks anyone who has received one of these unsolicited foreign shipments to save all shipping labels, packaging and seeds, and contact the New Mexico Department of Agriculture.
