New Mexico’s Health Insurance Exchange, beWellnm, in accordance with the Inflation Reduction Act sign ed on August 16th, will allow state residents to continue to receive health insurance at little to no cost through the end of 2025. According to a new release, the Open Enrollment Period for Plan Year 2023 will begin on November 1st, 2022 on the beWellnm health insurance marketplace. Maureen Manring, Director of Communications and Outreach for beWellnm, stated that “health insurance purchased through beWellnm during the Open Enrollment Period will continue to allow for financial assistance and may completely eliminate premiums for low-income individuals and families.” Health plans must permit New Mexicans to enroll regardless of health status, age, gender, or other factors that may predict the use of health services. The Open Enrollment Period for plan year 2023 runs from November 1st , 2022 through January 15th, 2023.

The Lordsburg – Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2022 Hidalgo County Fair Parade is scheduled for Friday, August 26th starting at 5:00 P.M. The Parade will begin setting up at 4:00 P.M. on 2nd Street just east of the high school, will proceed down Motel Drive, and will end near the main gate of the fairgrounds. This year’s theme is “The Bounty of Our County”. Parade entries are encouraged to be as interactive as possible, showcasing not just who they are, but what they do. The Silver City/Grant Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for the new Calvary Christian Academy Gymnasium. Several local officials attended the community event to celebrate the new venue that will provide many years of meeting the needs of Calvary Christian Academy students and their families. CCA is a member of the Southwest Christian Athletic Association whereby students can compete in Girls Volleyball and Boys Basketball.
