Over the weekend, firefighters we able to build a containment line around the East Fire located near the Town of Mimbres in Grant County. According to the U.S Forest Service-Gila National Forest at the time of this report, the fire is 183 acres and is 100% contained. Fire personnel will patrol and monitor the fire’s perimeter over the next several days.

The New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance has issued advice for True Health NM’s insurance plan members. True Health has recently announced that is leaving the New Mexico health insurance market after being purchased by parent company, Bright Health last year. True Health’s members, including individuals, families, and employee sponsored groups are urged to determine when their coverage will end and begin researching coverage options provided by other companies, such as beWellnm.com. True Health will be sending notices to all its health plan members at least 180 days before their coverage ends. Additional information is now posted on https://www.truehealthnewmexico.com/

The 35th Annual Tour of the Gila Bicycle Race begins tomorrow with the Stage 1 Mogollon Race. Street around Gough Park will be closed from 6:00 A.M. to from 10:30 A.M. to non-race vehicles. The race will commence on US 180 at Gough Park to NM 211 finishing at NM 159 milepost 6.7 from 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. in both directions with a rolling road closure.
