The ground breaking event was held at the corner of Bayard and Maple Streets in Santa Clara.  The Roger T. Silva Splash Park will feature a 25 ft. tall replica of the old water at Fort Bayard.  Swing sets and park benches and tables will surround the Splash Park.  There will even be vendor concessions at the new community park.  Construction is planned to begin on July 5 and the Roger T. Silva Splash Park should be completed by the end of August.  The Roger T. Silva Splash Park will be the only Splash Park of its kind in southwest New Mexico once completed.
