Western New Mexico University’s Kinesiology program is combining STEM education with hands-on community outreach by providing students with real-world experience in fitness, wellness and human performance. The program focuses on exercise physiology and sport psychology while offering initiatives such as senior fitness classes and youth bicycle programs that promote healthy lifestyles for residents of all ages. Students gain practical training through direct work with community members and access to advanced scientific equipment and research methods. The program continues to expand opportunities for students while strengthening community health and wellness efforts across the region.
