The pageant is the signature kick-off event for the 38th annual Great American Duck Race weekend, Aug. 24-27 in Deming. This year’s theme is “Race the Rails,” a tribute to the history of Deming as a “Tank Town” when the railroad came through in the late 1800s. For further information go to demingduckrace.com
A New Mexico History Museum photo exhibition, titled “Lowriders, Hoppers and Hot Rods” will be featured at Western New Mexico University. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 7 at 4:30 p.m. in the Frances McCray Gallery of Contemporary Art.
The Red Hot Children’s Fiesta will be held at Penny Park on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. The event is a resource fair for children and families with booth participants providing services to families and activities for kids. This is a free event.
