DESCRIPTION:The Gila National Forest is announcing a Continental Divide Trail Maintenance and Rehab project using volunteers on Saturday\, March 13th from 9:00 A.M. and wrapping up by 12:30 P.M. The project includes brushing and tread work of the CDT Trail. Volunteers are requested to bring safety glasses\, long-sleeved shirt\, pants\, sturdy Footwear\, work gloves\, sunscreen\, water\, and lunch. In addition\, volunteers need to meet at the Pinos Altos Fire Station at 4759 NM Highway 15 at 9:00 A.M. No sign up is necessary. The Forest Service will supply the hand tools and volunteers need to provide their own transportation.

DESCRIPTION:WNMU is holding an online Academic Student Research Symposium and Career Fair on Tuesday\, April 27th from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Students of all disciplines are encouraged to present projects that pertain to research\, public service\, technology\, and industrial applied technology. DESCRIPTION:Catron County is hosting the states very first Wildfire Preparedness Fair. We will have information for home owners on how to prepare for the wildfire season to make their home fire safe. They will have multiple vendors attending to include US Forest Service\, State Forestry\, State Police\, NM State Fire Marshals\, NMFPA\, Catron County Fire\, Local Law Enforcement. The fair is to prepare home owners and citizens in the event of a wildfire. Things that will be discussed Fire prevention\, Preparing a home for wild fire season\, Preparing for evacuation\, and getting familiar with our local agencies. There will be lots of handouts. Dates are : April 30th at the Catron County Fair Building in Reserve\, NM 10 am – 2 pm; and May 1st at the Pie Town Park in Pie Town\, NM 10am – 2pm. For more information contact Catron County Fire Administration at 575-533-6498.
