DESCRIPTION:In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day this coming Monday\, January 17th\, Western New Mexico University is holding a program in Light Hall Auditorium at 11:00 a.m. themed “A Commitment to Change.” The program features a keynote speech from Silver Consolidated School District Superintendent Will Hawkins\, includes remarks by WNMU students\, the presentation of the 2022 WNMU/Grant County Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award\, and concludes with the screening of Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech known as “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.” Others will be taking part in the program including\, WNMU Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Dr. Isaac Brundage\, WNMU Housing Hall Director Alfonso Wilson\, WNMU Student Leadership Coordinator Ashley Templeton\, and WNMU Assistant Dean of Student Life & Development Jessica Morales.
