Don’t miss the 14th annual Gila River Festival: “Celebrating 50 years of Wild & Scenic Rivers in America” September 20th through the 23rd in Silver City and the Gila National Forest. Featuring presentations by local authors Phil Connors and Dutch Salmon, a local foods brunch, San Carlos Apache Honor & Social Songs, and much more. Enjoy the festival downtown in Big Ditch Park on Saturday afternoon at the Gila River Extravaganza, packed with kid and family centered fun, including Mescalero Apache War Dance, West African drumming, the Monsoon Puppet Parade and a community art project.
