Day 4 of The 31st edition of the Tour of the Gila is the Downtown Silver City Criterium which will begin at 8 am on Saturday.  Downtown road closures start at 5 am Saturday morning. Streets affected include Bullard, College, Cooper and Broadway.  Entry points into the course are Santa Rita Street at Cooper, and Arizona Street at Broadway. Residents living within the race area will be provided maps showing directions for accessing the area. The race is a 15 to 40 lap course depending on the category. The “Women Three – Four Category” starts the Saturday racing. The exciting “U.C.I Women and Men Races” will be the last of the day, starting at 3 pm, ending around 6 pm. The Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs, along with Bikeworks, will be sponsoring a bike rodeo from 9 am to noon near Curious Kumquat on College Street. Kids will be able to ride the fun safety course, get bikes inspected, and ride their bikes on an obstacle course. Spectators are urged to either ride or walk into downtown as there will be limited parking.
