The Grant County Chamber of Commerce was out this morning at 10 am for the official ribbon cutting at the Sonic Drive-In, located on Highway 180 next to Walgreens.  According to a press release from the Chamber of Commerce, “opening a new business isn’t cheap.  We appreciate the investment made in our community.  The creation of new jobs, new shopping opportunities, and a new business helping our community prosper… well it’s… just pretty darn cool.”

According to an earlier story published in the Sun News, this Sonic Drive-In is expected to bring an additional 50 jobs to the area.  Combined with the already existing Sonic, the two fast-food restaurants will employ around 100 people.

The new location is hoped to be convenient not only for community members shopping in the vicinity, but also to be able to serve overflow from the other location.  The new location next to Walgreens also offers a sitting area with tables and umbrellas where customers can sit outside.
