Due to flood waters and heavy rains, the Gila Cliff Dwellings and Gila Visitor Center remain closed to the public.  Both are expected to reopen sometime this week when water levels decrease, the rains subside, and the portion of NM-15 that has been closed by the New Mexico Department of Transportation is reopened.  NM-15 is currently closed beginning immediately north of Doc Campbell’s Post in Gila Hot Springs, though Doc Campbell’s remains open for business.  In the Gila National Forest, the Grapevine, Lower Forks, and Lower and Upper Scorpion Campgrounds remain temporarily closed.

Contact the Gila Visitor Center at 536-9461 for further information regarding current closures.
