October 8th, 2013: “Defend Freedom” Veterans Bus Tour Visits New Mexico

The “Defend Freedom” cross-country bus tour of decorated veterans passing through New Mexico today and tomorrow.  Participants including Lt. Col. Steve Russell, who led the capture of Saddam Hussein, along with CEO Pete Hegseth will share stories at events in Albuquerque and Las Cruces.

According to the press release, the goal of the event is to engage local veterans and other interested community members.  The ‘Defend Freedom’ Bus Tour launched in October and will travel nearly coast to coast providing a platform for military veterans, their friends and families, and all interested community members to share their stories and “explore ways to continue fighting for freedom here at home.”  The tour is sponsored by the Concerned Veterans for America.

Public events will include a Live Performance, MADISON RISING, at the Thunderbird Harley Davidson, 5000 Alameda Boulevard Northeast in Albuquerque today from 6 to 8 pm, a Leadership Breakfast at the East Gate Foursquare Church Parking Lot, 12120 Copper Avenue Northeast in Albuquergue from 7 to 8:30 am tomorrow morning (October 19th), and a Lunchtime Leadership Forum at Veterans Memorial Park, 2651 Roadrunner Parkway in Las Cruces from 1 to 3 pm tomorrow afternoon.
