The following is a press release from the Habitat for Humanity Gila-Region:

Habitat for Humanity Gila-Region is a non-profit Christian Housing Ministry. Habitat brings together people with resources and people in need of shelter to build simple, decent houses. Houses are sold at no profit, through no-interest loans. Habitat International has affiliates in every single state of the U.S. and in more than 80 countries.

This is a really busy and exiting time for Habitat for Humanity Gila-Region. We completed our 17th home in Grant County in July and we started a new build the first of this month and as of today the house is up, walls are up, trusses are in place.

A great deal has gone into this project with our volunteers, the Quintana family, and a very special group of individuals from all over the country including one from right here in Silver City and they are called the Care-A-Vanners. This is very special group of people that combine the fun of RV travel with fulfilling the Habitat for Humanity experience. They travel in their own recreational vehicles to Habitat affiliates across the United States and Canada, building new friendships, Habitat awareness and decent houses  in partnerships with families in need.

Habitat for Humanity Gila-Region invites you all to drive by the build sight and introduce yourself, we are always looking for volunteers and see for yourself what a great group of people we have been blessed to have at this new build for the Quintana family.
