Here’s a look at today’s headlines:

The Historical Committee of the village of Santa Clara celebrated the installation of its first Little Free Library last week.  The first of five Little Free Library boxes planned for the village is located outside City Hall.

Deming residents were invited to a recent presentation about the possibilities and ways marijuana could become legal in New Mexico.  Those in attendance heard about the possible benefits of legalizing the substance within the state and the effects it would have on commerce and taxes.

In sports action, the Western New Mexico University football team gave the nationally ranked number 9 team, Texas A&M Commerce a scare before falling short in a 38-24 loss on Saturday.  The Mustangs play this Saturday at Fort Lewis College.

The Lady ‘Stangs volleyball team lost a 3-0 sweep to number 11 Angelo State University on Friday night in sets of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-21.  WNMU also lost a tough 3-0 match against Tarleton State University with sets of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-6.  The Lady ‘Stangs return home to face UT Permian Basin tonight at 6 pm.  WNMU swept the Falcons when they played in Odessa earlier in October.
