Here’s a look at today’s headlines:

Gila Regional Medical Center has completed transition of its hospice patients to other area providers.  Patients and families worked with the GRMC Hospice team to ensure the wishes of the patient were met and to ensure a smooth discharge and uninterrupted care.  The Home Health Services are expected to complete transition in mid-November.  A small group of GRMC Home Health & Hospice caregivers will remain on staff temporarily to complete the final transition activities.

The Deming Border Patrol Station was contacted by dispatch after a man call 911 for help – he told the dispatcher he was lost, in distress, and in need of assistance.  The phone signal was located by the 911 Center, and helicopters were sent to search the area.  After being located and receiving evaluation by an EMT from the US Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue Team, the man told agents he had illegally crossed the border.

Tomorrow, November 4th, is Election Day.  In Grant County, election polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm at the following locations: the Bayard Community Center, Cliff High School, the Grant County Business and Conference Center, the Hurley Community Center, the National Guard Armory in Santa Clara, San Lorenzo Elementary School, the Silver City Woman’s Club, and the Tyrone Community Center.

In Luna County, the polls are open at three Voting Convenience Centers from 7 am to 7 pm at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center – 2300 East Pine Street in Deming, the Holy Family Catholic Parish Center – 615 South Copper Street in Deming, and the Columbus Community Library – 112 North Broadway in Columbus.

In Hidalgo County, polling locations will be the Animas Community Center, the Hidalgo County Courthouse, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department, the James H. Baxter Civic Center, the Lordsburg Special Events Center, the Rodeo Community Center, and the Virden Community Center.
