Day 4 of Silver City’s Tour of the Gila, powered by SRAM, is the Downtown Silver City Criterium that will begin at 8 am, Saturday. Downtown roads affected by the race will have closures put in place starting at 4am Saturday morning. Streets affected include College Avenue, 6th Street, Bullard Street, and Cooper Street. Residents living within the race area will be provided maps as to how to access the area. The “Women Three – Four Category” starts the Saturday racing at 8am and each class will follow shortly thereafter. The race is a 20 to 40 lap course depending on the category. The exciting “U.C.I. Men Race” will be the last race of the day, starting at 4:15 pm, ending around 6pm. Registration is still available for the Downtown Citizen’s mid-day Race! Enjoy racing and the “Downtown Expo,” in the Morning Star parking lot. Also, the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs will be sponsoring a bike rodeo from 9am to noon near Curious Kumquat on College Street. Kids will be able to ride the monitored safety course that is loads of fun! Get your bike inspected, meet DARREN the lion and enjoy the fun bike rodeo course! Spectators are urged to either ride or walk into downtown as there will be limited parking. Enjoy the fun Saturday in Silver City!
