The latest Signal Fire update is from late last night.  As of yesterday, the fire had spread to 5,740 acres, but is now 15% contained.  Nearly 600 personnel are now fighting the blaze, including 5 helicopters, 18 engines, and 1 dozer.  So far, no structures have been lost.  Yesterday, crews strengthened existing fire lines and the opened up old roads to create a new containment line.  Today, crews will continue to build lines on the northeast and east sides and continue to mop-up and patrol on the southwest flank.

The cool, stable weather allowed crews yesterday to make significant progress on the blaze, but temperatures are expected to increase and critical fire weather conditions are possible over the weekend and next week.

Highway 15 should now be open to the public, according to the news release, though other forest roads have been closed for public safety.  View a map and list of the road closures here: http:tinyurl.com/o8oquf3.  Or see full updates and information on the Signal Fire at http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/3864/
