Here’s a look at today’s headlines:

The New Mexico Forestry Wildland Fire reports the Guadalupe Fire in Hidalgo County.  The Guadalupe Fire has been active moving east to north and grown to approximately 3100 acres as of yesterday evening.  The fire started around 1 pm on Tuesday in the Southern Pelencillo Mountains 45 miles south/southwest of Lordsburg.  The fire is believed to be lightning caused, and has threatened no structures.

The Bayard City Council will conduct a work session at 1:30 p.m. and a Regular Meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Bayard City Hall. Items on the agenda relate to old and new business matters. A copy of the Agenda in its entirety may be obtained at the City Hall Administrative Office during regular business hours by the Friday before the scheduled meeting date. A Closed Executive Session will be held pursuant to State Statues 10-15-1(H-2) NMSA 1978.

The Town of Silver City Recycling Advisory Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2015 in at 3:00 PM at the Office of Sustainability, 1106 N. Pope St., City Hall Annex 2. The Town of Silver City Council will hold a public hearing during its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Grant County Administration Center, 1400 Hwy 180 East, Silver City, New Mexico. The public is invited to attend. Action items on the agenda will include approval of minutes, approval or disapproval of an ordinance amending Appendix C of the Land Use and Zoning Code, and approval or disapproval of a resolution supporting a Public-Private Economic Development MainStreet Project.

Today, Governor Susana Martinez and leaders of the New Mexico Senate and New Mexico House of Representatives reached agreement on three pieces of legislation to be passed in a special legislative session.
