The Silver City Public Library, in conjunction with the Silver City Museum, the Bayard Public Library, and the Gila Valley Library, will host a talk by John Heisey about clay in the Gila Cliff Dwellings.  The presentation will be held this Thursday, July 25th, at 5:30 pm at the library.  Mr. Heisey will be discussing the construction of the Gila Cliff Dwellings and the way the inhabitants used clay.  This event will lead up to the Silver City Clay Festival, scheduled for later this week.

In addition to discussing the Gila Cliff Dwellings past residents’ use of clay, those who listen to the talk will gain “insight into the culture and diversity of Grant County’s ancient residents’, according to a release by Lillian Galloway of the Silver City Public Library.
