The museum is teaming up with the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest, Literacy Link Leamos, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southwestern New Mexico, and the Wellness Coalition’s Youth Volunteer Corps  to bring a morning of fun activities for the whole family.  On Thursday, July 18th, head out to the Silver City Museum for “Kid’s Day at the Museum”, an event filled with fun for the whole family.  The fun begins at 9:30 in the morning, and will offer games, crafts, free books, and more.

The Museum’s courtyard will be full of activity stations for rope making, panning for gemstones, bubble making, historic games, and of course refreshments!  All of the activities are free and fun for the whole family.  According to Charmaine Wait, this is “a great way to introduce your children to the Museum,” which offers visitors an opportunity to celebrate our diverse local history and culture by “collecting, preserving, researching, and interpreting the region’s unique history.”
