Small Business Development Center at Western New Mexico University Celebrates Star Client Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery

Southwestern New Mexico Craft Brewery and Spirit Distillery

SILVER CITY, NM – New Mexico Small Business Development Center (NMSBDC) at Western New Mexico University (WNMU) announced today the recipient of its Star Client Award: Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery, a beer and spirits service owned and operated by Teresa Dahl-Bredine and Dave Crosley. The Star Client Award recognizes a client of NMSBDC that has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the success of its business, as well as its community.

Pursuing a dream to brew beer, Dave Crosley established a craft brewery and nano-distillery with the help of Teresa Dahl-Bredine on the site of their pre-existing Inn and Tavern in 2013. After recognizing the full potential of their quality products, Dave and Teresa opened a taproom and full service restaurant in downtown Silver City.

As a result of the financial counseling and business workshops provided by the SBDC at WMNU, Dave and Teresa were able to take a dream and make it a reality.

“SBDC-WNMU has also helped us find the support we needed to put the financial plan in place to move forward,” said co-owner Teresa Dahl-Bredine. “It’s fantastic to find such a wealth of knowledge and support in our local SBDC office!”

Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery has been granted the funds to build a new location, expanding their production from 200 barrels of craft brew annually to 9,000, as well as tripling their distillery production. Expansion will allow Little Toad Creek products to be served beyond the borders of New Mexico.
