Governor Susana Martinez will be in Silver City tomorrow, August 20th, 2013.  A Press Conference is scheduled for 10 am at the Silco Theater, 311 North Bullard Street in downtown Silver City.  The purpose of Governor Martinez’ trip is to “announce Mainstreet Capital Outlay funding for a portion of the renovation costs of the Silco Theater Project”.

While in Silver City, Governor Martinez will also continue visits to schools to distribute books to First Grade Students in Silver and Cobre Consolidated Schools.  Books provided are in English and Spanish, and some include Navajo themes.  These students in Silver City and Santa Clara are among over 28,000 students statewide to receive a free book this year, the second year of the 1st Grade Book Initiative.
