As the holidays approach at an alarming rate, we have to remind ourselves that it is not about the food or the gifts, or the parties! It is about our family, our friends and giving of ourselves! We realize how hectic the holiday season can be, and how sometimes we can give too much of ourselves and run short on time, so the Chamber of Commerce is offering a gift wrapping service to the community. (This will also serve as a fundraiser for the Chamber, so we encourage everyone to take advantage of it!) So, for those who hate to wrap packages, or are just too busy, keep the Chamber in mind! Bring your gifts to us and we will take care of your wrapping needs. We are also taking donations of wrapping paper and ribbons if you have any extra that you won’t be needing!  Don’t get wrapped up in holiday stress!!!

There are several events coming up in the next couple of weeks that are meant to help get everyone in the spirit of the holidays. This Friday, November 25th is the 7th Annual Community Tree Lighting on Main Street in Lordsburg. The festivities start at 6:00 pm. be sure to bring your cameras and get photos of the little ones with Santa & Mrs. Claus. There will also be an opportunity to get photos with Captain America and the Grinch as well!

The Lordsburg Christmas Light Parade and Moonlight Madness will be on Friday, December 2nd. The Light parade will enter at the east end of the fairgrounds and loop around the arena and exit at the west end. The parade will begin at 6:00 pm. Entries are asked to please be at the fairgrounds and lined up by 5:30 so if you have technical difficulties they can be taken care of before the parade begins! Moonlight Madness will get going immediately following the parade at the Special Event Center. For more information, contact City Hall at 575-542-3421.

There will be many local and visiting vendors; for more information contact Bobbie Massey at 575-548-2434 or Alysha Wagley at 575-548-2206.

How fortunate are we to live in a county that have so many that gives so much of themselves to put these events together.  Remember them when you are counting your many blessings this Thanksgiving.
